Bill Shepard
Continuous since 2004, Bill has chaired CEO groups under the flagship of the Alliance of Chief Executives (www.allianceofceos.com ) based in Walnut Creek, California and the Chief Executive Council (www.chiefexecutivecouncil.com) based in San Francisco. In 2012, he founded and is CEO for the CEO Business Forum of Northern California. In June 2012, the CEO Business Forum merged with the Chief Executive Council. Bill will lead this new entity into 2013 and beyond.
In 1999, Bill Shepard left the world of being a full-time CEO to become a senior-level advisor and confidant. Over this 12-year period, he has worked almost exclusively with Northern California CEOs, COOs, CTOs and CFOs and their senior team supporting them and their business initiatives. Bill is a senior-level consultant who works most often inside the company to accomplish specific deliverables as set by leadership and ownership. His areas-of-focus have been Innovation, Profit, Talent, Execution, and Best Practices. While his client list is confidential, Bill’s work includes long-term relationships with a wide-ranging mix of companies including Technology, Internet, Financial Services, Branding, Design, Semiconductors, Mobile, Software, Supply Chain, Professional Services and others.
As the founder and owner of the COO Forum (www.cooforum.org), Bill currently serves as CEO and Chairman of the Board. This association has over grown from a five Chapters to over 50 Chapters in two years. Today the COO Forum is throughout the United States serving the professional development needs of COOs and Second-in-Command executives in the mid-market. In 2012, the COO Forum anticipates growth into all 50 states and to over 100 Chapters throughout the U.S. Bill founded this association in 2004 in Northern California.
As a Senior Consultant at Strayer Tirado Consulting (www.strayertiradoconsulting.com), Bill Shepard works with Angel, Venture Capital and Private Equity backed companies focused on leadership development, organizational architecture and effectiveness.
From 1980 through 1999, Bill Shepard was a CEO or President at a series of companies, including Divisional President – Philips Electronics, Cole National, Spiegel, and CEO – NordicTrack, Andrew Alexander, Pacific Linen. He has served on the Board at CML (NYSE), NordicTrack, Andrew Alexander (Chairman), Pacific Linen, Pacific Linen-Canada, and Chief Operating Officer Business Forum (Chairman).
Bill Shepard has a BA Economics from the University of California, Santa Barbara. Bill currently serves on the NCPHS board of directors in San Francisco. He lives in the Silicon Valley with his wife Karen. They have four grown children who live in San Francisco, Gainesville, FL, Washington DC, and Rockland, ME. Bill and Karen are avid hikers, active in theatrical arts, and enjoy travel.
